Toronto Chef Helps Egg Farmers of Canada Inspire Consumers
From: Food in Canada
Ottawa – The Egg Farmers of Canada each year for more than 20 years has donated eggs to community food banks across Canada. This year it wants to inspire Canadians to also give back. That’s why the EFC launched its Recipes That Give campaign. With the help of celebrated Toronto Chef, Lynn Crawford, they surprised Food Banks Canada volunteers with a nutritious breakfast that included three recipes. The EFC filmed the surprise and will release a video in early December.
Using the video and other social media, the EFC says it’s promoting “the idea that a simple meal goes a long way and serving a home-cooked meal is nourishing, brings people together and makes them feel appreciated.”
With that message the EFC hopes to encourage more Canadians to support their local food banks and think of those Canadians who can’t always get a wholesome meal.
